Week 9 Recap: Victories Across the Board for Our Teams

Cardinals Rally for a Last-Minute Win

Going into Week 9, all three of our teams secured victories, each in a different way. For the Cardinals, it was a nail-biter. They struggled early, unable to establish their passing or running game until midway through the third quarter. A concerning stat for them: they allowed the opposition to convert 11 of 15 third-down attempts, with many conversions coming on long-yardage situations.

However, the Cardinals showed grit and ultimately clinched a 28-27 victory, thanks to a last-second field goal by Chad Ryland. This marks Ryland’s third consecutive game-winning field goal. Notably, the last time the Cardinals won back-to-back games by field goals was in 1998.

Kyler Murray also had a standout performance, throwing for a season-high 300 yards. With this win, the Cardinals are now 4-4 and lead the NFC West.

Chiefs Extend Their Perfect Record

Meanwhile, the Chiefs improved to an impressive 7-0 for the first time in the Mahomes era, defeating the Raiders 27-20. Mahomes was near-perfect in the first half, completing 19 of 20 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown.

The defense played a crucial role as well, especially after a Mahomes interception. The defensive line held the Raiders to -5 yards over four plays. With a balanced team effort, the Chiefs are poised to make a significant impact this season.

Broncos Dominate the Panthers

Finally, the Broncos took down the Panthers with a decisive 28-14 victory. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, showcasing his versatility.

The Broncos’ defense was relentless, intercepting Panthers quarterback Bryce Young twice and sacking him twice. Nix threw for a total of 284 yards, his best performance of the season. This win moves the Broncos to a 5-3 record.
